This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.FunctionsDevelops research programs and projects from general guidelines provided by agency management, and develops data collection surveys and instruments to record and analyze relevant data. Performs statistical analysis on data gathered and generates understandable statistical reports. Writes research reports and prepares brochures and pamphlets explaining statistical findings by using charts and graphs to visually depict statistical information. May supervise a small professional and administrative support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.DimensionsLimited in and out-of-state travel may be required.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of research and analysis techniques. Knowledge of statistics and statistical methodologies. Knowledge of the principles and practices of organizational management. Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information and prepare narrative and statistical reports. Ability to review results and determine if there are sources of errors or deviations in the statistical data collected. Ability to interpret and apply federal and state laws and regulations governing the specialized program area. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others.Minimum QualificationsThe formal educational equivalent of a bachelor's degree in statistics, general business, or a related field; plus two years of experience in research and statistical analysis or related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
