We are hiring! Role SummaryThe Research Supervisor will engage in the leadership and development of Research staff. The Research Supervisor will be responsible for recognizing opportunities for cross-departmental collaboration that will advance the NBR Team's ability to efficiently and accurately complete studies and deliver an excellent product to our sponsors. This is an exempt role that is not eligible for overtime and has supervisory responsibility. Role Responsibilities
- Contribute to the Research Departmental development including, but not limited to, communicating expectations and business needs to direct reports.
- Oversee performance, development, training needs, and accomplishments for all direct reports.
- In collaboration with Human Resources, hire staff as needed and resolve all employee relations issues.
- Serve as the liaison between staff, other departments, and management to communicate expectations and business needs along with serving as the point of contact for all studies.
- Develop and maintain departmental systems and SOPs. Assist in the development and communication of departmental policies and procedures.
- Responsible for Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), protocol, and regulatory compliance of all direct reports.
- Recognize, initiate, and lead improvement activities.
- Understanding of laboratory operations and data collection including paper and electronic data review for GLP compliance.
- Will work closely with In-Life Coordinator to schedule and manage study functions.
- May coordinate with Animal Care Supervisor to maintain required Research functions/coverage per study.
- Express comfortability with training and use of expertise in the lab environment along with performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's or equivalent in animal or life science-related discipline with a preferred minimum of 4 years of related animal science experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of management experience preferred.
- LAT/LATG certification Preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office core applications and the ability to learn and use additional applications.
- Excellent understanding of study design and protocols as well as laboratory operations and data collection.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of GLPs and other federal regulations relating to the care of laboratory animals.

Special Requirements
- The role will spend approximately 60% in an office setting and 40% in the laboratory. There will be exposure to animal pathogens and chemicals. There will be handling of, and/or exposure to, animal tissue and zoonotic organisms.
- Ability to don and wear personal protective gear, including N95 masks and respirators.
- Physical activity includes lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying (up to 40lbs for up to 50 feet), pushing/pulling (up to 75lbs force), reaching, gripping/pinching, standing, and ascending ladder without restriction.
- Ability to work beyond typical work schedule including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and extended shifts with short notice.
