About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Research Assistant to join our dynamic laboratory focusing on protein biochemistry and molecular immunology. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research while managing essential laboratory operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute protein expression and purification protocols using bacterial and insect cell systems
- Perform molecular biology techniques including cloning and biochemical assays
- Prepare protein samples for advanced biophysical studies
- Maintain comprehensive laboratory records and documentation
- Maintain regular communication with the PI regarding experiment progress, technical challenges, and resource needs to ensure efficient project advancement and laboratory operations
- Manage laboratory inventory and prepare common reagents
- Participate in weekly laboratory meetings and contribute to team discussions
- Support the development and optimization of new experimental protocols
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, or related field
- Demonstrated expertise in protein biochemistry and molecular biology techniques
- Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience with protein expression systems (E. coli)
- Familiarity with insect cell culture (Sf9, S2)
- Familiarity with yeast display and flow cytometry methods
- Proficiency in standard biochemical assays
- Basic computational skills for data analysis
