SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The ReSET Room Assistant monitors the ReSET Room under direct supervision of the Principal and the SEED Department according to set procedures and expectations. The ReSET Room Assistant performs trauma informed care and practices in accordance with strategic goals of SCS aligned to CASEL standards to provide interventions and supports for SPED Resource students and General Education students.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides assistance to students assigned to ReSET Room grounded in SEL supports and intervention towards regulating behaviors to benefit both teachers and students.
  • Observes and report behaviors of students that would be concern for the wellbeing of the school.
  • Assists in establishing and implementing behavioral objectives. Models appropriate social and play skills; observes students' behavior and notifies teacher and/or school nurse of behavioral changes as appropriate; redirects behavior if possible; may work with individual students to help them adjust behaviorally and academically into mainstream classroom and social situations.
  • Participates in required training and professional development in areas including but not limited to CPI (Crisis Intervention Prevention) Certification, Behavior Tools, Microsoft TEAMS platform
  • Performs routine clerical tasks as required, including but not limited to weekly activity and daily logs of interventions, student, and district visitors; creating and preparing reports and records; copying, scanning, and filing documents; entering and retrieving computer data; preparing notices and support referrals; receiving and responding to e-mails.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours) from an, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test and one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)

    Degree Equivalency Formula:

    Bachelor's Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

    Master's Degree=6 years plus required years of experience.
