This is a 12-month, live-in (required) position with state benefits. An apartment, utilities, parking, and campus meal plan are included with the position. The Residence Hall Associate reports to the Director of Residence Life and is responsible for all building specific administrative tasks as well as any other related duties assigned. Examples of DutiesAssist in the coordination and implementation of a comprehensive and contemporary Residential Life program:
  • Develop and implement diverse programming to include educational, cultural, social and recreational opportunities for students in the Residence Halls.
  • Ensure that student health and safety issues are paramount in our residential life programs and facilities.
  • Assist in coordination of student life activities in the residence halls
  • Assist in the establishment and enforcement of acceptable standards of conduct within residence hall facilities.
  • Assure that University rules and regulations are properly administered within the residence halls.
  • Direct, supervise and evaluate the Resident Assistants and other student personnel.
  • Communicate with the Physical Plant and Custodial staff regarding repairs and maintenance problems in the residence halls.
  • Maintain records on residents in regards to room assignments, key distribution, and residence hall damages.
  • Monitor all disciplinary actions and refer to appropriate judicial body as necessary.
  • Serve as an intermediary to help identify and resolve social or other problems and refer professional resources as necessary.
Typical Qualifications Bachelors required, masters preferred. Prior experience as a Residence Assistant, planning and directing social activities, and managing and supervising others is helpful.
