Wilkes University invites applicants for a Residence Hall Director position in the Office of Residence Life at Wilkes University. This is an ideal position for someone enrolled in graduate courses either at Wilkes, online or through another local university who has a passion for Student Life and Residence Life. As an integral member of the Office of Residence Life (ORL), the RHD will be expected to uphold the mission and goals of the ORL, the Division of Student Life, and Wilkes University.The successful candidate is responsible for assisting with the development and management of a residential area of the Wilkes University campus. Residence Hall Director will work with Residence Life Professional Staff to assist with the supervision of staff, oversight of residential education programming, enforcement of college policy, and facilities management. Residence Hall Directors will be required to meet with their staff at a variety of different times in a one on one and group setting.In this role, the RHD also serves as a resource to the students in their residential area, conducting regular follow-ups and appropriate campus referrals with students who are experiencing difficulties. These students may be identified both through their own observations and from information provided to them by their Resident Assistants. The RHD is expected to be visible and approachable to their RA staff and the residents that live in the area that they oversee. In addition, the RHD will participate in the ORL on-call rotation and support ongoing residence life processes and initiatives. Occasional evening and weekend availability is expected.A Bachelor's degree is required. It is preferred that the RHD is enrolled in a graduate degree program (Higher Education/Student Affairs/Counseling preferred). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Residence Life as an undergraduate.
