Your day as a Resident Assistant

As a Resident Assistant at Greenway Terrace, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to our residents in line with their customized care plans. To excel as a Resident Assistant at Greenway Spring Green, candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent and demonstrate the ability to comprehend and follow instructions effectively. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for documenting resident care and interacting with colleagues. Successful candidates will have completed necessary medication certification and show sound judgment in emergency situations, seeking assistance when required.

Proficiency in safety procedures, including fire safety and universal precautions, is crucial for maintaining a secure environment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform various tasks such as bending and stretching to aid residents and uphold cleanliness standards. Prior training in healthcare safety protocols is advantageous for this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • High School diploma or general education degree.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively communicate in English.
  • Complete medication certification.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to use good judgement in emergency situations and get help when needed.
  • Training in safety procedures including fire safety, universal precautions and emergency plan and tenant rights.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Requires good physical and mental health.
  • Constant standing and walking during work or periods is required.
  • Turning, stooping, bending, stretching and lifting to assist residents for cleaning and all other related tasks.
