We are currently looking for a resident assistant to work in the Assisted Living facility the Hopedale Commons. At Hopedale Commons West, our over forty (40) personalservices make life easier and more enjoyable for residents. Feeling at homebegins with our warm, welcoming atmosphere where wonderful details offerfamiliar touches of home. With forty-four (44) beautiful apartments, Commons West is a small, welcoming assisted living community that allows for personal relationships to be created with residents and staff. Beautifully decorated, the setting is very welcoming.

About the job:

In this role, you will help our residents maintain a sense of independence and vitality by aiding them in daily tasks that are challenging for them. You will always put the residents needs and safety first and work to provide a warm and caring environment. You will report to the Commons Manager and help residents with daily tasks ranging from hygiene and mobility to household duties. The shift is an

overnight shift from 6pm to 6am.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists residents with daily living activities.
  • Serves residents three meals daily in dining area.
  • Responsible for cleaning dining room after each meal.
  • Changes linens weekly and distributes towels daily.
  • Reminds residents to take medications at proper time.
  • Assists residents as needed to ancillary services (i.e., Lab, X-rays, Physical Therapy) in Hopedale Medical Complex.
  • If the resident has a problem, the floor assistant will report the problem to the administrator.
  • The assistant will be on call in the event a resident needs medical assistant.
  • Keeps a daily record of resident activity/problems.
  • Maintains the floors in the dining area.
  • If required, the assistant will provide wake up call for a resident.
  • Sends medication trays to medication area on a weekly basis to be refilled.
  • Answers the phone in the absence of the unit secretary.
  • Provide compassionate yet professional companionship and conversation.
  • Monitor and report any concerning changes in residents behavior or condition.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
  • Certification as a CNA, PCA, or HHA preferred
  • Must be willing to provide compassionate holistic care with dignity and respect.
  • Significant work experience in a residential care facility is strongly preferred.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
  • Good conversation skills and a friendly demeanor
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Able to maintain organized logs of activities and services provided.
  • Physically capable of doing work that requires standing, lifting, bending, and pushing.
  • Patient and calm, especially in difficult situations
  • Reliable, compassionate, and willing to serve others.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to move intermittently.
  • Must be able to assist resident with their bathing and other hygiene needs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Compensation details: 15 Hourly Wage
