These principles shape a supportive and enriching environment and our purpose for both residents and team members as we work to build community that inspires and celebrates life.Position Summary:As the Resident Assistant (RA), you will create a safe, supportive and inviting environment for those living on our Assisted Living and Memory Care community. You will also help with Activities of Daily Living as needed and requested by our residents and foster an atmosphere that puts each person's dignity and autonomy above all else.You get how important this position is to our residents and are committed to ensuring everyone gets the best service. - Treat residents with dignity, respect, and kindness.
- Demonstrate appreciation of the heritage, values and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
- Support and respect each resident's unique life experiences, including spiritual and cultural beliefs.
- Assist with all activities of daily living as per resident care plans such as dressing, bathing, toileting, grooming.
- Provide nurse with vital signs and assist with simple treatments as allowed by training.
- Complete documentation in an accurate, complete, and timely manner per organizational standards including the use of electronic medical record.
- Respond to resident pages in an appropriate timeframe and manage and prioritize tasks.
- Administer medications according to written physician's orders, maintain proper documentation of the administration of prescription and non-prescription drugs, and use proper techniques when administering medications by various routes.
- Discuss with nurse any concerns with a medication order or treatment regimen prior to completing the task to avoid errors.
- Follow established procedures in reporting medication errors or drug reactions.
- Follow established process for re-ordering resident medications.
- Maintain a clean, safe and accessible environment for residents, staff and visitors.
- Participate in the daily life of residents by supporting Community Life programming and participating in planned and unplanned activities with groups and individuals.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Here's what you need:
- High school diploma or G.E.D required
- Current QMAP, First Aid, Basic Life Support certification and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training required
- 1 year experience providing personal care preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
- Ability to think, act and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations
- Must be able to demonstrate computer competency.
- Must successfully pass organization required background screening
- Must successfully complete organization health screening requirements

- Starting Pay Range: $19.30-$21.31 per hour plus shift differential when applicable
- Evening shift differential +1.75/hour
- Overnight shift differential +2.75/hour
- Weekend shift differential +1.75/hour
