Job Type Part-timeDescriptionA Resident Care Assistant is a part of the overall commitment by the staff to provide a high-quality resident-focused plan of care, including the care for the physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of each resident. He/she should be patient, personable and professional in responding to resident needs with a gentle touch and caring attitude centered on treating all with dignity and respect. This position is responsible for assisting with Activities of Daily Living and in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director. Scheduled workdays and times vary and will include weekends and holidays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.
- Provide daily living assistance to our residents which includes but is not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, feeding, medication supervision.
- Communicate effectively with residents and family members regarding their specific plan of care.
- Notifies the Executive Director or designee of changes in resident's condition in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of assigned areas, including resident apartments and common areas.
- Assist with dining room preparation, serving and feeding.
- Transport residents as needed through the facility.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital, or physician related information
- Maintain orderly condition of assigned work area.
- Knowledgeable of general hospital policies and procedures
- May perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
- Weekends required.
- Display thoroughness and accuracy of work
- Works in a safe manner, including reporting unsafe equipment or environment.
- Well organized, accepts assignments willingly and accomplishes them quickly.
- Anticipates problems and suggests solutions.
- Communicate and interact with residents, family members/visitors, and staff.

- Possession of a genuine interest and concern for geriatric population

- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Graduation from high school or GED preferred.
- Must have the ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- CNA experience is helpful.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- CPR certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- In compliance with Criminal Background Check requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged or considerable standing and walking
- Required to climb, balance, stoop, and kneel.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, any workload exceeding 50 pounds will require assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works in well lit, climate-controlled setting
- May be exposed to communicable diseases, unpleasant sights, odors, and materials.
- The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
