About the Role - The Resident Care Specialist, under the direction of the Regional Director of Resident Care (RDRC), is responsible for providing clinical support, education, and oversight of assigned communities to ensure compliance with regulatory and Benchmark standards. You will be responsible for innovating and implementing clinical processes and procedures to enhance the development of resident care talent and systems. In some situations, you may be required to provide interim leadership as a community Resident Care Director. This role will require travel 100% of the time supporting community locations concentrated in eastern CT and western MA.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the RDRC to facilitate resident care related best practices throughout assigned communities; inclusive of memory care and Live Now/Live Well programs.
  • Serves as a clinical educator/expert for resident care related concerns.
  • Partner with the RDRC and RCD to ensure compliance with resident assessments and service plan processes.
  • Assist with resident assessments (pre-move in etc.) as needed.
  • Assures compliance with all resident care related regulations.
  • Assist/support community implementation of guidelines, standards and practices for resident care, memory care and programming.
  • Participate in on-going quality improvement programs.
  • Assist RDRC to perform analysis of clinical outcomes and other “at risk” reports and execute improvement plans in the region.
  • Sets standards for resident service delivery including recommendation on staffing levels, roles, and responsibilities, pricing strategies, and program differentiation and implementation.
  • Provides support to Resident Care, memory care and programming departments.
  • Review effectiveness of current programs, processes, and profitability.
  • Assists with national contract management (to support Resident Care).
  • Actively participates in risk management programs.
  • Oversees resident and dementia care in conjunction with Resident Care Leadership team-providing direction and assistance as needed.
  • Participates in the identification and development of product development and value adds.
  • Provides routine quality and memory care audits of communities within the region.
  • Attends tracking meeting when in the communities.
  • Develops and implements training and education programs at both the regional and organizational level.
  • Provide assistance and education of technology in support of Resident Care and Memory Care services.
  • Acts as a clinical resource to the RCD's, licensed nurses, and RCA's.
  • Provide assistance and education of regulatory requirements, and company guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in assigned states.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of experience working with elders or disabled individuals as well as demonstrated supervisory and management skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Possesses current CPR, first aid and Heimlich certification, if required by state regulations.
