Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Resdient Engineer to join us in Southern NY. Candidates should have experience with contractors for highway, traffic signal and pavement installation for NYSDOT or locally-administered projects, and experience working for clients like NYSDOT/Municipal clients. Technical knowledge of general and highway construction is required.

Responsibilities:

Able to lead other inspectors or act as solo inspector for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc. Insures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisive decisions. Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work. Leading other construction inspectors; providing coaching, mentoring, and direction as needed

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of transporation construction experience
  • Valid US Driver's License required
  • NICET IV required
  • Leadsership skills & decisive decsion making
  • Comfortable with using computers and adapting to softwares
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors on a project site for extended period of time
  • Strong Mathematics skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Attention to detail
