Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Resident Engineer to support its Construction Management Teams working in the NYC Metropolitan area on public transit and commuter rail systems.Position Responsibilities:Oversees field site activities on large or multiple small projects.Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish complex goalsResponsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines and may lead the work of othersProvide oversight of the field construction inspectors during the project construction phase including; preparation of inspectors daily work schedules, ensuring site safety monitoring, technical oversight, quality of construction, and Client satisfactionAccountable for the planning, coordination and inspection and construction management activities and assignments of all direct reporting staff to ensure efficient utilization of staffingBalance work in the project office with the senior management team and also provide supervision of the field inspection teams working nights and weekendsInterface with multiple contractors to ensure coordination of construction activities and acquisition of force account support staff with multiple transit and railroad agencies in a timely manner to meet aggressive project schedulesEvaluate, resolve and provide solutions to contractors and construction inspectors for constructability issues encountered at construction sites. Responsible for the timely and efficient acquisition of transit and railroad force account resources to support the ongoing constructionEvaluation and validation of contractors change order requests against contract documents, negotiating change orders costs and schedule impacts and make recommendations to the Construction Manager and Program ManagerQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor s Degree in Engineering with six years of related experience in an engineering discipline or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationDue to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is requiredTransit and Transportation ExperiencePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge and experience in performing inspection and resident engineering activities in active transit system environments, construction site safety standards, operations requirements and force account support servicesWritten communications and presentation abilities in internal project settings with, the senior management team, external project stakeholders including senior client management leadershipInterpersonal skills, staff supervision, strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilitiesExperience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering and related fields is preferredAdditional InformationSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this positionRelocation is not available for this position#LI-SG1Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
