We are seeking a Resident Engineer with hands-on expertise in Nokia Network Service Platform (NSP) for upcoming and ongoing roles, including customer locations in Kansas City , Kansas .
Requirements:
- Expertise in Nokia Network Service Platform (NSP): In-depth knowledge of operations, hardware/software/diagnostics for Nokia NSP.
- Experience with OSS applications and virtualization technologies.
- Ability to develop reports and automation tools, and manage NSP and Nodal software upgrades.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with customer teams and NOC personnel.
- Experience in Nokia TAC ticket management and technical consultation.
- Hands-on expertise in Nokia NSP is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Nokia NSP Operations:
- Manage and troubleshoot the NSP environment for both production and lab setups (alarms, applications, and environments).
- Generate performance/analytics reports for NSP applications.
- Develop network and service capacity reports (MPLS, DWDM, Microwave).
- Lead and manage Nokia TAC tickets related to NSP environments and applications.
- Support software upgrades for NSP, MPLS, DWDM, and Microwave NEs.
Customer Support and Knowledge Transfer:
- Provide On-the-Job Knowledge (OJK) transfer to client NOC personnel.
- Establish and improve NOC processes, including outage management and notification.
- Define IP/MPLS provisioning standards to reduce fault restoration timelines.
- Develop and maintain tools to enhance the operational environment, including configurator tool development and automation for local accounts' password changes.
- Evaluate customer skill sets and create a tailored training plan.
Monitoring and Surveillance Activities:
- Configure new network elements and IP routing setup.
- Detect, isolate, and resolve network faults.
- Perform routine diagnostics and corrective actions.
OSS & Virtualization Experience:
- Support OSS and application integration into the NSP environment.
- Implement and manage virtualization technologies, enhancing network performance and operations.
Nokia Router and Network Experience:
- While Nokia router experience is not a must-have, any background in Nokia routers will be a valuable addition.
- Provide guidance on network architecture and support customers in troubleshooting network issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Nokia routers, MPLS, DWDM, and Microwave networks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to network operations.
- Background in virtualization technologies such as Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
