During monitoring hours, they will observe, report and document issues that may affect the health and safety of the residents and staff. During meal hours, they are responsible for providing meals to residents while adhering to NYCDOMH food handling and safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist and monitor all participants and guests entering and leaving the building;
- Assist participants with very basic health & safety protocols according to agency guidance.
- Collect relevant information during crisis situations such as badge numbers, incident information and copies of documentation.
- Document all program activities in the communication logbook;
- Follow agency guidelines on reporting and documentation of all incidents promptly according to agency protocol and procedures. Ensure all incidents are called into a supervisor or team lead prior to leaving shifts.
- Promptly report any unsafe conditions to Program Manager
- Assist with crisis management, provide support to program staff, facilities and external vendors.
- Responsible for program package collection and mail distribution according to building protocol
- Conducts regular safety & wellness checks on residents. This includes verticals of the building; visitor sign in and log entries.
- Monitor security cameras
- Distribute meals to residents and accurately record meal attendance
- Receive food deliveries and place into storage accordingly
- Work collaboratively with Residential Aides and Food Service Workers
- Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications:
- High school diploma or GED/HSE or related experience;
- Must obtain Fire Guard and F80 certification within 3 months of hire
- Experience working in a residential setting and/or providing security services;
- NYC Food Protection Certification required
- Certified in CPR and First Aide a plus. Will be required to obtain CPR and First Aide Certification after employment; Certification in safety and basic health training (i.e. Mental Health First Aid, First Aid and CPR) is a main requirement and can be completed within the first 90 days.
- 0-2 years' experience in security, or equivalent required.
- Comfortable with computer-based data entry and using Microsoft Office;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent judgment and conflict resolution skills;

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to Long Island City office for meetings or trainings and/or to other sites to provide coverage in cases of staff callouts.Physical Demands:Ability to physically monitor hallways, lobby and common areas.
