Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.W. 83rd Street Safe HavenLocated on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the W. 83rd Street Safe Haven is comprised of 108 units for individuals not yet ready to transition into permanent housing, as well as those who may have struggled in other housing programs. West 83rd Street offers an alternative to life on the street: private, safe, clean, and affordable short-term accommodations. On-site case management and clinical services are available to meet the needs of its residents and to help those ready to move into secure permanent housing.Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, t he Residential Aide will assist in ensuring effective service delivery . The R esidential A ide will provide staff support and maintain program stability by providing assistance and monitoring the premises. The R esidential A ide will be expected to engage with individuals experiencing homelessness as well as with Program and Outreach staff.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Monitor the area and provide resources to clientsM aintain a welcoming, safe, stable environment for clientsMake hourly rounds within and outside the facility to ensure safety and securityIncident management: Report and document incidents, crisis interventions, communicate with on-call management teamRecord keeping including documentation of daily attendance, shift report, visitors, writing progress notesGreet people entering the site , determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinationsCirculate among residents, visitors, or employees to preserve order and protect propertyComplete intakes, and property searches as needed, distribute mailAccept and log all food deliveries and serve meals to clients. Willingness to complete food safety courseScreen residents and visitors and packages to prevent passage of prohibited articles into residenceUse company vehicle to transport clients to and from appointments in the community and as directed by program managementProvide relief support for 311 operationsFacilitate onsite laundry and shower resources for clientsPerform other related duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Two years of related experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite requiredHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), Associates degree preferredCPR and First Aid certifications a plusExperience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and/or mental health or substance use issues is a plusValid NY or NJ driver's license with a good driving record, as defined by Breaking Ground is preferredEOE/M/F/Vet/DisabledOther detailsPay Type HourlyApply NowWest 83rd Street Safe Haven, 106 W 83RD ST # 108, New York, New York, United States of America
