Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in the community by performing the duties listed in this job description. Relies on education, skill, and judgment to provide quality services to the people we serve with limited direction and supervision. Requires an unencumbered Nursing License. For certain behavioral health services additional requirements may apply. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.Performs nursing functions and consumer care at the Long-Term Structured Residence (LTSR) including assessment, care, and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and RHA. The nurse is responsible for helping individuals with their medication management and medical and mental health needs in a homelike environment. Nurses are the liaison to community supports, including hospitals and medical professionals. Nurses call emergency services if the need arises.Pay: $30.00/hrBonus: $5,000*Paid in intervalsSchedule: 2nd shift 3pm-11pmRequired Education/ExperienceEducationCertified R Nurse/ LPNExperienceFive years' experience in the human services field working with individuals with behavioral and or mental health issues (preferred)Required Licenses/CertificationsValid driver's licenseResponsibilities:Assists with Quality Management- Reports client's social, psychological and physical behavior as indicated. Implements and ensures compliance with standards of nursing practice that promote optimal health care delivery and meet regulatory requirements. Implements policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with Confidentiality regulations, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), national accreditation agency and Continuous Quality Improvement. Attend applicable meetings as necessary. Using state guidelines, Quality Assurance Plan and Client Rights Policy, ensures that clinical operations comply with state regulations and update plans and policies as necessary.Directs Communication with Management and Executives. Establishes and maintains frequent and regular communication with Program Director, and Assistant Operations Director as needed. Report treatment difficulties to supervisor.Identifies and executes on growth opportunities. Ability to acknowledge and establish areas of personal and professional growth in annual evaluations.Performs Nursing Responsibilities- Provides professional nursing care including assessment, care and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and RHA. Performs Nursing assessments and interventions with medication oversight and administration as needed. Demonstrates proficiency in intervention techniques for both staff and clients in mediating problems or complaints; supervise clinical staffing, and provide other regular staff meetings and other venues for effective communication of information to staff and solicitation of staff ideas, concerns, and suggestions. Additional duties may be required of the RN during staff vacancies or PDO. Developing relationships is a key therapeutic competency that helps to empower people and creates the environment for the opportunity for recovery.Communicating Effectively (Supported by Seek First to Understand then to be Understood) -Share's information. Listens and involves others. Clearly Conveys ideas in a manner that engages others and helps them understand and retain the message. Communicates with other providers and coordinates care regularly with all individuals involved in treatment.Adheres to HIPAA privacy regulations and Department of Human Services principal guidelines.Adheres to Mandated Reporter protocol and effectively communicates concerns with program management.Work collaboratively with members of the treatment team and other service providers to ensure comprehensive nursing services.Crisis Prevention and Intervention All Long-Term Structured Residence (LTSR) Nurses will be trained to engage in verbal crisis prevention techniques and interventions as appropriate.Managing Stress-(Supported by Sharpening the Saw) Uses healthy and effective methods to manage stress (e.g., maintaining appropriate diet, exercise, and sleep schedules); reacts effectively when faced with high-pressure situationsChampioning the needs of the People we Support/Customers (Supports Culture of Caring)-Provides timely and professional service to both internal requests and the requests of the people we support and customers; is responsive to the people we support and customers' needs and requests.
