Residential Care AssociateThe child and adolescent Residential Crisis program offers short-term services for youth between the ages of 8 and 17 years of age. The program will focus on youth appropriate for a setting that is less intensive than a hospital and are receiving intervention for challenging behaviors or waiting on longer term residential placement. Residential treatment allows the adolescent to meet needs as recommended by the treatment team; provides direct care around the clock; facilitates adolescent involvement in the prescribed therapeutic activities and services. The Residential Care Associate will function as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team in the residential program. Schedules Available:Evening Full time 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm w/ e/o weekend KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct residential child and adolescent care in a manner that considers safety, resident rights, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
- Demonstrates understanding of behavior management techniques.
- Duties will include providing and facilitating resident involvement in the prescribed therapeutic groups, recreational activities and other services.
- Monitors the residents to insure safety and well being.
- Documents incident reports, activity logs, resident behavior.
- Manages residential unit and resources according to policies and procedures
- Transports residents to and from appointments in the community
- Medication Technician or willing to become certified as a Med Tech
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 21 years of age
- High school degree or GED required; Associate or Bachelors' Degree in psychology, social work, human services, childcare or a related field preferred.
- Experience in working with adolescents in a residential care setting preferred.
- Must complete criminal background check, physical and drug screen prior to employment
- Must be able to complete a non-violent crisis prevention program training after employment
- Must have driver's license in the state of residence
