General Summary:

The Residential Clinical Support reports to: LNB Directors

Supervisory responsibilities: Not Applicable

Position Type: Exempt (salaried)

The Residential Clinical Support will work directly with the individuals Life's New Beginning (LNB) serves and staff of an assigned group home on a daily basis. The Residential Clinical Support (RCS) will adhere to LNB's mission, core values/ethics, and philosophies. These include, but are not limited to, person centered planning, incorporating Everyday Lives philosophies and principles into services, maintaining an open-door policy, etc. The RCS will engage in ethical and professional behavior.

Work Location

This position will be in-person work in the assigned residential location.

Essential Functions

  • Work directly with adults diagnosed with mental health and intellectual disabilities, families, and groups to address and support emotional and mental illnesses, behavioral challenges.
  • Conduct multidimensional assessments including functional behavioral assessments, motivational assessment scales, and other necessary assessments as needed.
  • Utilize direct instruction, coaching, modeling and facilitation to teach skills.
  • Design, implement and monitor behavioral and crisis management plans.
  • Provide information, training and technical assistance to teams in the areas of trauma, dual diagnosis, psychiatric symptom management, autism, positive behavior support, crisis management, etc.
  • Participate in team meetings, psychiatric appointments etc. as requested to provide guidance and support to staff.
  • Monitor progress through direct interaction, observation, data collection and analysis to ensure appropriate and adequate team follow through with behavior plans, tracking sheets, psychiatric PRN protocols and other monitoring tools.
  • May be requested to participate in the development of service or treatment plans to determine long and short term goals.
  • Participate in education and other activities necessary to maintain competency in clinical work and to utilize best practice standards.
  • Adhere to chapter 6400 and 6100 state regulations.
  • Attend all applicable meetings.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with the individuals and staff through all channels of available communication.
  • Maintains confidentiality of both individuals in service and staff.
  • Flexibility in schedule to meet the needs of the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of positive approaches philosophy, self-determination, and their integration into service delivery.
  • Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, genetic disorders, autism, trauma, and other pervasive developmental disorders.
  • Knowledge of best practice behavioral interventions.
  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis (mental illness/intellectual and
  • developmental disabilities), including psychiatric disorders, symptom identification and psychotropic medications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks to achieve completion.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to problem solve difficult situations associated with the job duties.
  • Ability to think quickly in a fast-paced or continually changing work environment.

Education and experience (required):

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • A graduate of an accredited college or university with a master's degree in special education, psychology, counseling, social work, education, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or gerontology Or a graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in special education, psychology, counseling, social work, education, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or gerontology.
  • Valid PA driver's license
  • 2 years driving experience
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English
  • Participate and successfully complete required training (includes but not limited to CPR, First Aid, Med Administration, Safe Crisis Management)

*Must have at least 2 years of clinical support experience
