The successful candidate will be driven by building relationships and connecting with others to produce healing and restoration. You are a tenacious and dedicated person who enjoys learning from others, helping people, and are a patient and concise communicator.-----This is an hourly full-time position. The rate is $21/hour. The schedule is Tuesday - Saturday 11:00am - 7:00pm on site at our residential houses in northeast Baltimore City.The Residential Counselor provides continuous care, support, and supervision to individuals with mental health issues who require residential treatment. These counselors are responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients throughout their shift. This may include conducting regular checks on clients, responding to emergencies or crises that may arise, and documenting any incidents that occur. HR will then reach out via email to schedule a phone screening..Responsibilities Include:Direct Services:
- Assists clients with their daily/nightly activities of living.
- Enforces house rules and company policies among the clients.
- Coordinates and assists with group events and activities.
- Transports clients to offsite activities, appointments and events as needed
- Offers community resources to clients.
- Engage clients in developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships.
- Conduct medication checks and assisting clients with medication management
- Document on every client's progress.
- Provide emergency crisis intervention and conflict management as needed.
- Complete ongoing office hours for training, supervision, and meetings (hours will vary).
- Other appropriate role-specific tasks
Documentation:
- Use LBE IIO (Issue, Intervention, Outcome) documentation format, along with rehabilitative/behavioral-focused language.
- Submit shift documentation prior to shift end
- Complete critical incident reports, hospital reports, and collaboration regarding incidents to the supervisor by specified due dates.
Coordination:
- Collaborate with each client's therapist on a monthly basis.
- Collaboration efforts may be face to face or by phone and documented within EHR.
- Coordinate with assigned PRP workers for each client
- Maintain consistent collaboration with the assigned supervising team about client care.
- Collaborate with the Targeted Case Management Employment Specialist regarding client progress with vocational interventions.
Supervision:
- Participate in and be prepared for 1 hour per week of supervision/training/meetings.
- Attend a general staff meeting on a quarterly basis.
- Attend clinical training sessions when required.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Must provide driving record from the MVA.
- Valid Maryland Driver's License
- Reliable and up-to-date insured vehicle (State minimum for Maryland)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Experience working in a metal health residential setting
- Experience running group sessions with mental health residential clients
- Experience with medication management
- Must be able to drive company vehicle and transport clients
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or currently pursuing Bachelor's degree
- CNA and/or Medication Technician Certification
- 2 years' experience providing direct service to young adults and minors with emotional and behavioral challenges preferred.

- New employees may utilize PTO days after their 90-day Introductory Period. The amount of PTO new employees are front-loaded at the beginning of each calendar year is based on the length of service determined by the Organization: After 1 year employees will receive 15 days of PTO, after 5 years you will receive 20 days of PTO, and after 10 years 25 days of PTO. Employees will receive time and a half for any agency-determined holidays that employees are scheduled to work, and employees birthday is considered a paid day off that does not affect your PTO balance. Employees will receive Sick and Safe Leave according to Maryland State Law.
