About Our AgencyThe South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) is the state agency that plans, develops, coordinates, and funds services for South Carolinians with the severe, lifelong disabilities of:

Job ResponsibilitiesUnder the general supervision of the Director Autism Residential Operations plans, implements, and supervises the delivery of all services for the individuals served by Autism Residential Operations in assigned location.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and update individualized Residential Plans for each resident. Complete Annual Assessments, Supervision Plans, ISP Programs and ISP Data in coordination with Residential Support Plan. Develop and review progress, provide supervisor with quarterly progress report (Additional reports as needed). Attend program meetings and ensure appropriate staff, parent/guardian, service coordinator, day and other providers, other stakeholders and individuals participate in the planning process.
  • Maintains compliance standards for Licensing, Contract Compliance, Residential Observations, Fire Marshal Health/Safety and Sanitation, Medication Technician/Medication Administration and other Autism Residential/agency directives, polices, practices and assignments.
  • Maintain CTHII homes and SLP residences according to agency directives, compliance, policy and practice standards.
  • Provide support to all full time and part time staff to ensure implementation of all plans and objectives. Plan and conduct training for staff on accountability, licensing, contract compliance, fire marshal, residential observations and medication technician reviews, and documentation of agency forms to ensure compliance standards are met. Maintain staffing levels to ensure efficient and appropriate scheduling on shifts for CTHII homes. Supports SLP residents where applicable, providing services according to service provider appropriation.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor's degree in a human services field including, but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, psychology, Registered Nurse licensure, or Doctorate of Medicine Osteopathy. Two years of related experience providing professional or direct services, including at least one year of experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities, and at least two (2) years experience as a supervisor. Will accept an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year for year basis.Must maintain a valid SCDL in good standing.
