Compensation: We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $68,739 and may be commensurate with experience.
Position Description: The Program Manager will oversee daily program operations and staff. The Program Manager is responsible for creating a healthy and welcoming environment for families to live in and reach their goals and will lead staff and organize resources to meet the program's mission.
This position is located at Griffin House, this program provides long term housing for 20 families and 19 individuals on Naylor Road in SE Washington, DC.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree; 3-5 years experience in social services; experience providing services to low-income families; previous supervisory experience.
Required License/Certification: CPR/First-Aid, CPR for infants
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 9am-5:30pm; Thursday: 10am-7pm (40 hours a week)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: .
* Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for motivational enhancement theory and understanding of MET interviewing and career counseling.
* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service and individualized services. This includes understanding resident's needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of satisfaction
* Knowledge of clientele behavior and dynamics and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
* Knowledge of creative and effective problem solving skills with ability to draw conclusions, evaluate options and implement solutions.
* Knowledge of mental health issues, trauma substance abuse disorders, program population and homelessness.
* Ability to forecast to anticipate challenges and develop contingency plans and solutions identifying industry trends in advance of planning.
* Ability to effectively use data and research to reach informed, effective decisions.
* Ability to build strong channels of communication and appropriate collaboration with internal and external partners.
* Ability to lead and facilitate trainings and life skills workshops.Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of approaches to problems.

Expected Contributions
* Ensure daily program operations run smoothly; Contribute to strategic development and strive to improve program functions and performance; Supervise, oversee, and develop programming plans for adults.
* Establish a baseline for residents service provision based on initial assessments at move-in and any updates and /or changes made through-out the residency.
* Develop programming based the needs of the community and evaluate programming based on identified milestones of resident utilization, awareness and improvements.
* Manage program budget and finances; order program supplies and materials, as needed.
* Oversee all support and case management services.
* Contribute to department budget development, and use sound judgement to leverage resources in accomplishing department goals; Administer budget and comply with SOME financial reporting requirements.
Expected Contributions/Supervisory:
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels, evaluate, hire and train new employees.
* Contribute to budget development and ensure budget complies with SOME's financial reporting requirements.
* Contribute to strategy development and strive to improve departments performance and functions; assist in the development of standards and goals as appropriate.
* Schedule staff work hours as needed and monitor for time and attendance; approve time cards and requests for leave.
* Provide coaching and training for all staff, assist staff with work processes, and policies and encourage opportunities for professional development.
Reports to: Vice President, Family Services
Position Designation: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. You may be subject to drug testing prior to or during your employment with SOME. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires looking at a computer screen for several hours a day. May be required to sit for long periods. Must be able to travel to events and meetings offsite
