Methodist Home for Children works to ensure safe, nurturing homes for children while working to eradicate the social and family problems that lead to abuse, neglect, family disruption and abandonment. We provide community-based services for children and families throughout North Carolina. We partner with public agencies to serve children in crisis and we raise private funds to ensure that we can deliver the best in evidence-based services.
We are currently seeking a Program Manager for our Craven Transitional Living Program in New Bern, NC.
FIRST THINGS FIRST... WHAT IS A TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM?
Transitional Living homes serve teens who are on probation but cannot return home safely from a youth development center or other residential placement. Referred by juvenile court counselors, they stay for six to 12 months, working to finish school, identify career goals, get a job, volunteer, earn a driver's license, and learn to budget, cook and manage bills.
WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM MANAGER DO?
The Program Manager is responsible for the on-site administration and supervision of program operations of the assigned group home. Responsibilities include programmatic supervision of the group home, as well as management of the home's budget, staff, delivery of program services, coordination of volunteers, and relationships with service professionals, clients and their families, neighbors of the home and the general community.
ARE YOU QUALIFIED?
* Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college. A degree in a human services field is preferred.
* Three (3) years of experience working with client population
* Previous supervisory experience of child-care workers is required. Direct care experience with adolescents and their families is also preferred.
BENEFITS are available to full-time staff after 90 days of employment:
