Job Location: Vernon, CTJob Summary:The Residential Program Manager is responsible for the supervision and operation of a residential program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The Residential Program Manager must be detail oriented, organized and able to act creatively, confidently and calmly when faced with daily challenges. The Residential Program Manager possesses the ability to communicate effectively and maintain a patient and positive attitude and must be able to adapt to the flexible nature of the job and meet multiple deadlinesSupervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises assigned Direct Support Professionals(DSP).
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures that general operations are maintained in accordance with Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) licensing regulations and MARCH, Inc. of Manchester policies and procedures.
- Develops relationships with the individuals supported that is respectful and maintains professional boundaries.
- Provides advocacy for each individual supported based on their personal choices.
- Encourages and maintains positive and professional family, guardian, DDS, interagency and community relationships.
- Ensures effective hiring, training, evaluation and supervision of Direct Support Professionals to provide quality services to the individuals supported by the agency.
- Ensure confidentiality of individuals supported and the agency.
- Complete all necessary documentation with adherence to deadlines to include, but not limited to behavior plans, individual's goals, financial records, communication log, nursing log, incident reports and medication Kardex.
- Maintain records of supported individual(s) care, conditions, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with DSP, program coordinator, director and clinical.
- Provide necessary support/ treatment and documentation for unusual incidents.
- Effectively manages house/program budget and maintains accountability for house and personal funds.
- Organizes and facilitates staff meetings and assures regular house meetings are held.
- Participates in the development and implementation of person-centered Individual Plans (IP).
- Participates in Interdisciplinary Team meetings as needed.
- Represents the mission, philosophy and goals of MARCH, Inc. of Manchester to families, community contacts and the public.
- Actively demonstrates efforts to update and improve service delivery.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with coworkers, residential program managers, administrative personnel, clinical, nursing and community providers.
- Throughout employment successfully meet and maintain the requirements of all certifications and training as established by regulatory bodies and the agency's policies and procedures.
- Provide emergency coverage as needed. 24hours on call responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Advanced technology and computer ability.
- Current driver's license and proof of insurance required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in the field of human services, social work, psychology or related field is preferred.
- Supervisory/Management experience required.
- Experience working with people who are intellectually/developmentally disabled preferred.
- Experience working in residential setting required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, walking.
- Ability to bend, push, pull and lift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to travel.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
