About the Position: Shift Supervisor: The Shift Supervisor is responsible for coordination and implementation of residential programming for pregnant and parenting individuals residing in the Residential Treatment Program. The Shift Supervisor directly supervises Residential Counselors Casework

  • Complete daily documentation as required.
  • Assist with initial orientation of new residents to program.
  • Provide milieu management and crisis intervention.
  • Participate in planning and coordination of client activities to foster relationship building.
  • Support counseling staff with supervision of residents in all aspects of their daily schedules, including development and implementation of day plans for primary residents.
  • Develop relationships with all residents to facilitate communication and foster effective interventions.
  • Provide supervision, feedback, and assessment of residents caring for their children and provide intervention as appropriate.
  • Assess and support residents in socialization skills, house chores, maintaining living areas, and personal hygiene.
  • Follow emergency and program procedures set forth in staff manual.
Supervisory
  • Directly supervise Residential Counselors; assist in development of professional goals.
  • Complete performance evaluations for assigned Residential Counselors.
  • Co-facilitate Counselors Meeting with Residential Coordinator.
  • Provide weekly group and individual supervisions
  • Oversee the physical safety of the facility and report problems/concerns/complaints as appropriate.
  • Manage hiring and onboarding process of new Residential Counselors and Substitute Residential Counselors.
  • Provide orientation for new Residential Counselors and Substitute Residential Counselors.
  • Oversee completion and quality of documentation.
  • Oversee interactions between staff and clients.
  • Other duties assigned
Administration
  • Responsible for coordinating coverage for Residential Counselors with Residential Life Coordinator.
  • Act as liaison between Residential Counselors and all other residential team members.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and communicate information with other staff members.
  • Oversee petty cash for residence and activities.
  • Serves as residential liaison ensuring strong alliances with food services, medical, and other community providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We Look For:
  • A bachelor's degree in human services related field with minimum of 3-5 years' experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines and demands; ability to work well under pressure; availability to respond to off hours crises; some state-wide travel to attend meetings; flexible hours at times to meet the needs of a 24-hour facility.
  • Ability to assist with childcare including lifting infants and toddlers.
  • Demonstrate creativity and initiative as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A cohesive value system that includes a nonjudgmental attitude regarding reproductive choice, parenting options, and substance abusing clients. Displays caring, responsive and respectful attitude towards others.

    • Upon conditional offer of employment, must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.
    • Ability to deescalate and resolve sensitive situations respectfully.
