Families and Youth Innovation Plus is hiring a full-time Innovative Youth Services Residential Support Specialist
The Residential Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety, supervision, and welfare of youth residing at the shelter. Residential Support Specialists meet the immediate supervision and care needs of youth, including transportation to/from school and appointments; housekeeping and custodial duties; food preparation and handling; participation in life skills, educational, and recreational programming; and assisting youth with activities of daily living. Residential Support Specialists also perform crisis intervention and case management support in collaboration with case manager, clinical and supervisory staff.

Responsibilities:
- Provide case management, life skills, and support services, etc.
- Process and intake potential tenants, including resident orientation
- Coordinate building usage, including laundry, community kitchen, computer lab, etc.
- Develop, schedule, and facilitate community building activities for residents
- Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, neighboring programs, and resource providers
- Meeting and follow ups with tenants to ensure their needs are met.
- Facilitate and/or coordinate restorative circles and other conflict management activities for resident-related matters
- Report all incidents, safety matters, and liability-related issues to appropriate persons according to policies, procedures, protocols, and training.
- Greet guests, field/manage their inquiries and direct them to the appropriate person according to their needs.
- Operate office equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service to all scheduled and walk-in appointments
- Process correspondence to other agencies, staff and clients in accordance with the policies and procedures related to confidentiality.
- Input verified information pertaining to intake and appointment scheduling into appropriate fields of the computer database and EMR-BEAR.
- Verify information collected from tenants and other sources for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform clerical and administrative support duties as assigned
- Perform host and event coordination functions
Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- Minimum of 2 years working with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use / recovery, mental health treatment, and/or system involved OR personal lived experiences in recovering from those areas
- Must pass a CYFD Criminal Records Check
- Must maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License
- Must be able to successfully perform non-violent crisis intervention and CPR/First Aid upon hire (trainings will be provided)
