Join the St. John's team! Serving as a role model to both resident youth and staff alike, while enhancing your professional skills and potential for growth. The Unit Manager is 35-hour a week, full-time, permanent position.Requirements: Minimum of a HS diploma required w/ 2-years of prior experience working with youth including supervisory duties; knowledge of child welfare, preferably congregate setting; Some college preferred. Incumbent must be trained/willing to be trained in the TCI/SCM/MYSI/program specific training; Experience managing behavior with a strong knowledge of programming. Strong communication/ documentation skills. *The position requires a valid NYS drivers license in good standing.Overview: The Unit Manager is accountable for the physical/emotional safety of the environment during shift, always. The individual is responsible for supporting the Group Leader/other staff in leading the staff/resident teams utilizing the Tuckman/other program designed model of supervision, to include MYSI standards (Eyes on, Ears on, Heart on). Furthermore, the Unit Manager must insure the fidelity/implementation of the MYSI approach, compliance with all rules and regulations, policy/procedure set forth by governing bodies (ACS, OCFS, etc.). Moreover, the Unit Manger must collaborate with all service providers, i.e. Medical, Social Service, educational and all other providers.
