In this role, you run the resort on a day-to-day basis to achieve statedobjectivesin employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality,cleanlinessand profitability. You'llberesponsible forassistingtheResortGeneral Manager in providing overall leadership, guidance, and direction to the hotel management team as it strives to provide the highest quality in standards and services. This position isessentially the face of the Resort and mustrepresentthe Resort in a knowledgeable and eloquent manner.You'llalso ensure that the Resortcomplies withlocal, state, and federal, rules and regulations.Your focus will be tied to five major departments,includingFood Beverage, Waterpark, Rooms, Retail and Spa Kalahari. You'vegot to love being on the floor with our associates and guests!Required background:We do require that you haveexperienceconsisting of five years' extensive managerial and supervisory experience as a Food and Beverage Director, General Manager, Assistant General Manager or Director of Rooms of a large (over 500 rooms) hotel/resort or hospitality environment.Additional required skills include:
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, clients, senior management, corporatedirectorsand ownership is needed.
- Ability to present information in one-on-one or small group situations in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of hotelmanagement,bestpracticesand data-driven economic principles.
- Extensive knowledge of hotel/resort operations such as high-volume dining, concessions, culinary, hotel/resorts sales and marketing, rooms management, housekeeping, laundry, spa, maintenance, convention center services, and theme or water parks.
- The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business is essential.
- Ability to respond effectively to rapidly changing demands.
- Proficiencyinusing Microsoft Excel.
- Expert P L knowledge,workwithin a budget,to makebusiness decisions that make the most sense for the business, to report financial performance to ownership.
- Ability to resolve disputes with guests and associates.
Preferred skills, but notrequired:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality, business,financeor related field.
