Position Summary: Offered through Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® (UCS), the Resource Manager will work as part of the Communications team to lead and coordinate all resource development and manage the maintenance of all UCS asset libraries and the platforms they live – all while ensuring the UCS brand is being strongly and effectively represented across all managed channels. This position will utilize verbal and written communication skills, project management expertise, asset management strategies, and creativity. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead each stage of project management of all Unified Champion Schools resources. Manager will work with all members of the UCS team creating relevant resources to organize content development, oversee feedback/editing process, contract graphic design in partnership with Design & Documentation Sr. Manager, and create distribution and promotional plan.
  • Maintain the growing UCS resources library with frequent review and audits for updates, gaps in information, and any need for reorganization. This also includes maintaining organized asset libraries (photo library, internal resources, graphics, templates, etc.) and ensuring these are easily accessible for relevant users.
  • Update specific resources annually to reflect changes in research and evaluation data.
  • Oversee adherence of UCS branding and language guidelines in all UCS written and graphic formats and act as “content expert” in this area.
  • Ensure that all materials being produced are representative of UCS efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion. If current materials are not meeting this standard, lead the development of such assets.
  • Manage external freelance support and vendors, including fulfillment center and translation services.
  • Serve as creative lead and project manager for development of signage for all departmental and Regional needs.
  • Manage the department's presence on all Program/external facing platforms, such as the Hub and resources.specialolympics.org.
  • Maintain open channels of communications with UCS state Program staff who may need support in accessing, utilizing, or implementing UCS resources – including but not limited to support through email, one-on-one meetings, webinar trainings, and more.
  • Responsible for ongoing reporting to the Department of Education and internally.
Other Responsibilities
  • Undertake tasks that may be requested from time to time by SONA Marketing & Communications Director and SONA UCS Communications Director, as may be consistent with the nature and scope of the position.
  • Support on-site events such as conferences, youth leadership opportunities, content capture projects (interviews, filming, photography), Special Olympics Games events and activities, and other national and regional events.
  • Attend regular team meetings.
  • Undertake training and development, as agreed with supervisor.
  • Be a positive, professional and active member of the Unified Champion Schools team, taking personal responsibility for contributing to and maintaining good morale and work relations, and actively promote a positive image in all Special Olympics meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with the Special Olympics policies and guiding principles.
  • Ensure that projects are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets and in accordance with federal grant guidelines.
  • Provide feedback and evaluate progress and achievements towards division goals of continuous improvement; ensure targets, outputs and outcomes are met.
  • Ability to travel required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in project management or related discipline, or minimum 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong project management experience, including managing and meeting timelines.
  • Ability to manage upwards.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach to content creation.
  • Self-starter.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous Special Olympics experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
  • Basic understanding of all Adobe Creative Suite platforms (i.e. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with AI asset management preferred but not required.
  • Experience using platforms such as SharePoint and Smartsheet are preferred but not required.
