Full time, Non-exempt; hourly
Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The goal of the program is to provide a comprehensive and efficient defense against eviction to at-risk low-income renter households by interconnecting best practices in eviction prevention, resource navigation and diversion along with expanded access to legal advice or legal representation into a stronger, more flexible, better coordinated, and immediate wrap-around intervention.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Outreach to tenants who have received landlord tenant notices based on new eviction filings.
* Attend landlord-tenant court proceedings to directly assist eligible households rental assistance applications, eviction prevention household income certifications, access to legal services, mediation, homeless diversion, including rapid rehousing.
* Meet face to face and/or virtually with clients. Determine client needs based on interview, develop a budget, develop Housing Stabilization Plan, provide housing stabilization services intended to meet basic essential needs.
* Develop and maintain housing stabilization plan, case files and monthly statistical reports. Enter all client information into HMIS. Real-time regular reporting into HMIS of services provided, outreach and case outcomes. Timely submission of data collection and evaluation into HMIS-within 48 hours of contact.
* To provide creative solutions to expediently prevent eviction.
* Process direct client flex funds quickly and efficiently to pay necessary arrears to prevent eviction.
* Maintaining regular communications with the office of Eviction Prevention.
* Work independent with accuracy and complete adherence to policy and procedures.
* Responsible for other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the effective and efficient operation of Catholic Charities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ACTIVITIES:
* College degree preferred; 1 year of related work experience.
* Complete work with accuracy and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of community resources, rental assistance and homeless prevention programs.
* Ability to utilize necessary technologies to provide and document services virtually.
* Communicate effectively, both verbally and in-writing.
* Basic computer and software skills and experience.
* Preferably Bilingual Spanish
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* General office environment. Must adhere to COVID19 Pandemic Protocol, including use of PPE equipment, observe social distancing, working remotely and/or in the office on a rotated schedule.
* Valid drivers license required.
* Local travel is required, as needed.
* Position is subject to grant availability.
