Overview:
The Respiratory Therapy Technician provides expert support to the Respiratory Therapists, as well as providing treatment under supervision to patients. The Respiratory Therapy Technician is a licensed position that will respond to CPR calls, transport patients, administer therapies, and test and calibrate respiratory care equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Under direct supervision, prepares, assists, monitors, continuous mechanical ventilation systems.
- Administers therapies under therapist supervision, including but not limited to oxygen and humidification, metered dose inhaler or high flow nebulizer and monitors response and report patient response to assigned therapist.
- Maintains inventory of respiratory care equipment O2 apparatus and supplies assigned to various units-Operating room, Recovery room, Emergency room, and Intensive Care Units.
- Tests and calibrates assembled equipment under supervision. Performs EST on vents, cleans and setups vents. Assist in infection control management of department equipment, as per policy and procedure manual
- Assists in orientation of new staff.
- Transports cylinders and equipment. Under therapist supervision, assist in the in-house transport of patients, including but not limited to mechanical vents.
- Reviews all information contained in patient medical record and ensures that protocols are followed. Meets Expectation Does not Meet Expectation P
Qualifications:
One to three (1-3) years experience as Respiratory Therapy Technician in a hospital setting. Equivalent experience with patients and demonstrated Respiratory Therapy Competencies.
