Job Summary
This position performs duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physician's order and departmental policy. May function in lieu of a supervisor/coordinator when necessary, makes out assignments, handles personnel and assures proper staffing for the oncoming shift. Works independently in all acute and critical care settings. Consults with physicians and other personnel and makes recommendations on treatment as appropriate. Must possess skills necessary to treat patients of all ages to include infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as appropriate for the role. This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of $10,000 through March 1, 2023Accountabilities
Must participate in at least one of the following: - 10%
*Design educational offerings, submit for CEU approval and offer education to the RT team.
*Actively participate on the Unit Based Council
*Actively participates on a Quality CommitteeActs as a clinical leader and resource to team members in all acute and critical care areas: - 10%
Must participate in at least one of the following:
*Routinely take charge in lieu of a supervisor/coordinator
*Actively participates on the ECMO or Transport Team
Acts as a primary preceptor/mentor - 10%
Acts as a good steward of resources, including supplies, time/productivity - 10%
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina.
Register Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
BLS required. NBRC credentials must be maintained.
AARC Membership Required.
Certifications required may include any or all of the following depending on the unit: ACLS,NRP,FCCS,CAM class or PALS
In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements
Associate's degree and 5 years relevant experience
Other Required Skills and Experience
Must be able to effectively work in a team environment. Strong communication, computer and organizational skills required.
