Job Description SummaryUnder the director of a licensed Respiratory Therapy professional, the Respiratory Therapy student is responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or diagnostic regime prescribed by a physician; proper assessment, observation and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to respiratory care treatments and diagnostic testing; implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on physician orders; implement changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of a physician; the ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures; collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve desired patient outcomes. Additional Job DescriptionEducation:Must be a respiratory student, active and in good standing who may be employed and works under the direct supervision of a respiratory care practitioner and practices to the person's level ofproven clinical competence, as certified by a program approved by the AARC.Experience:None required.
