Respite CaregiverABOUT US Nonotuck Resources Associates (www.nonotuck.com) is a community-based agency providing residential services to people with disabilities since 1972. We believe in the vision of life sharing and its transformative power of caring for a person in a home-setting, Nonotuck provides personalized supports to people by matching them with caring providers who open their hearts, their minds and their homes. Just shy of 1,200 people receive Caregiving with Love in either Shared Living or Adult Family Care. Each person is surrounded by loving, dedicated, experienced and compassionate team members who provide values-based services driven by personal preference, community inclusion, and the goal of a diversity of freely given relationships. Position Information: Nonotuck Resource Associates is assisting in the search for a caring and compassionate respite caregiver to provide support for a wonderful woman in her seventies. Though she does not use words to express her needs and wants, she communicates in other meaningful ways. She brings joy to those around her with her unique sense of humor, sweet smile, and a laugh that is simply contagious This individual relies on a wheelchair due to physical limitations, and the ideal respite caregiver must be comfortable providing full Activities of Daily Living support and have the physical ability to assist with lifting. Knowledge of-or a willingness to learn how to prepare-a pureed diet is also important. What We're Looking For: A caregiver whose home is wheelchair-accessible or has minimal steps that can accommodate a portable ramp. If overnight respite is provided, a first-floor bedroom is required for accessibility. Someone who is patient, attentive, and dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centered care.
