Restaurant Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance Manager Job Responsibilities and Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Promote a culture focused on food safety & overall restaurant operations ensuring brand standards are followed.
- Conducts assessments that measure food safety & brand required audits of food service, restaurant operations areas utilizing provided audit forms as per brand standards.
- Maintains all audit information for food safety documentation, restaurant operations, window readiness audits. Prepares reports and Action Plans to correct areas of deficiency.
- Corrects immediate areas of deficiencies when observed.
- Observe food prep and all restaurant operations standards to ensure food safety, health, and sanitation practices are met. Responsible for resolving all food safety and restaurant operations issues.
- Provides training for all associates in maintaining proper food safety standards & regulations.
- Reports any and all maintenance concerns that could have an adverse effect on food, personal, guests & restaurant safety.
- Ensures all equipment's in being used, cleaned, and maintained properly; alerts supervisor of any malfunctions, safety concerns, or needs.
- Partner with Restaurant Manager to address the root cause of assessment discrepancies and develop Corrective Action Plan. Assists Restaurant Managers & associates in creating & completing SMART Action plan.
- Assists Restaurant Managers & associates in completing reports when needed.
- Provides input for improvements of the Restaurant Food Safety, Operations & Window Readinmess plan.
- Works hand in hand with inspectors from all departments (Inspire Brands or its third-party vendor & local Health Department)
- Verifies overall restaurant operations standards are met. Verifies food safety by evaluating different aspects of the environment including, but not limited to all associates food safety training/certification, the qualified person-in-charge, associate hygiene, food handling and storage, product identification and content, expiration dates, cooking, hot holding, and refrigeration temperatures, facility maintenance and cleanliness, foodborne illness risks, presence of insects/rodents and other health hazards.
- Responsible for training employees as well as planning, assigning, and directing work that pertains to food safety & overall restaurant operations.
- Teach and coach Restaurant Manager and all associates how to make their workplace a safer and healthier environment for themselves and customers.
- Collects data and prepares reports for regular review with the various members of the restaurant. Reports should include weekly recaps and suggestions on improving processes.
- Other duties may be assigned (reports to Senior Leadership)
Qualifications:
- Understanding of Federal, State, local laws, policies, procedures, specifications, and standards regarding the inspections of food facilities. Prior HACCP / food safety/quality assurance training experience preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback in a positive manner.
- Must be able to work well with others and teach and explain as it relates to food safety and brand restaurant operation standards. Ability and desire to influence others with tact and skill.
- Ability to work independently and with a focus on continuous improvement. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to demonstrate technical and leadership and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work based on urgency, efficiency, and other factors.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and effectively follow-up to ensure all issues are corrected in a timely manner and all safe service standards are being met.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and provide feedback regarding inspection deficiencies and required corrections.
- Must be ServSafe certified or become Servesafe certified within 30 days of beginning employment. In dept knowledge of sanitation and food preparation/handling practices.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Ability to pass mandatory (or random) drug tests, per company policy.
- Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per company policy.

- Must be 18 + years of age
- Excellent Communication/Strong Interpersonal Skills - Able to read and write clearly
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle (Not Public Transportation) and a valid Driver's License
- Bachelor's degree preferred in food science, hospitality management, microbiology, biology, occupational safety or related safety field with at least two (2) years' experience in food service, restaurant or grocery operations.
- Associates degree with at least four (4) years' experience in food service, restaurant or grocery operations
- Must be proficient with computers and computer software (Microsoft Office, etc.)
