As a Restaurant Manager, one would assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining room. Develops and implements processes and procedures. Ensures timeliness of food service. Supervise and trains dining room staff. Regularly acts as manager or captain on the dining room floor and maintains a high level of member contact throughout service hours. Responsibilities as an Assistant Restaurant Manager includes:
- Assisting management team overseeing a la carte dining rooms according to Duquesne Club standards.
- Schedule staff for the a la Carte dinner service. Submit schedule to Director of Dining and Member Services for pre-approval.
- Order and stock all supplies indigenous to each dining room, including beverage needs for those areas.
- Coordinate daily stand up meetings and attend other related meetings.
- Adequately carry out the responsibilities of the Director of Dining and Member Services in their absence (vacation, sick days, days off).
- Ability to meet and greet members and retain names for future; ongoing knowledge and familiarity with membership and their dining preferences.
- Knowledge and enforcement of house rules (dress code, billing procedures, use of Club by members, guest usage, etc.).
- Interview and hire service staff.
- Coordinate new-hire and on-going training for all service staff.
- Become familiar with all aspects of collective bargaining agreement as they relate to managing, staffing, rules of conduct, etc.
- Administer progressive discipline when warranted as required by the collective bargaining agreement.
- Ensure all safety measures are in place and handle any emergencies.
- Reporting mishaps or accidents to the Management/Human Resources.
- Encourage a spirit of teamwork within the Duquesne Club.
- Adhere to all Club policies and procedures.

- Self motivation and desire to succeed.
- Leadership ability to provide staff direction effectively, offer constructive criticism, provide training when needed, etc.
- Ability to recognize when changes are needed and introduce new concepts.
- Knowledge of fine dining procedures, etiquette, culinary terms and techniques, etc.
- Physical strength to carry trays and withstand various physical demands.
- Excellent coordination, manual dexterity, and organizational skills to work rapidly during busy, and sometimes stressful, periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or related field.
- Previous experience as a Manager at an upscale dining establishment
