Hiring: Sous Chef

Location: San Antonio, TX

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000

Join our culinary journey as a Sous Chef with a dynamic restaurant group in San Antonio, TX. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to oversee and enhance the catering process, ensuring flawless execution from conception to presentation. Upholding culinary standards, you will play a key role in ensuring recipe compliance and maintaining top-tier food quality. Your creative flair will be valued as you contribute to the development of regular and customized menus. Responsibilities also include training kitchen staff in diverse aspects such as food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, and adhering to high standards of food safety and sanitation, in accordance with Company and regulatory guidelines. Efficient inventory management for food and non-food supplies is essential, ensuring the availability of necessary products. Compliance with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, along with departmental procedures, will be a top priority. Additionally, you will perform other assigned duties to contribute to the overall success of culinary operations.

Required:

• A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, dependent on formal degree or training.
• Extensive catering experience is a plus.
• Highly desirable to have experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations.
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences.
• Hands-on chef experience is a must.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet.
• Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
• ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
