The purpose of Restorative Aide Health Care Technician (RHCT) position is to provided restorative nursing care and delegated formalized therapy tasks, as assigned, completing work accurately, safely, and in a timely manner. Specific care to include passive and active range of motion (ROM), ambulation, special positioning techniques, splint application, ADL training, bowel and bladder management, and restorative feeding. Responsibilities include working with Residents needing restorative nursing measures to gain or to maintain their highest possible, practical functional level. Position works closely with other nursing services personnel and rehabilitation services personnel such as Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech and Language Pathology (SLP). This position is considered mandatory, which means that employees are required to report to work during adverse weather and emergency conditions

Longleaf Neuro Medical Treatment Center (LNMTC) is a certified Medicare and Medicaid facility nursing home that provides a continuum of care to both adults with severe and persistent mental illness that also have long-term medical conditions requiring residential, medical and nursing care, and to adults with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or other related dementia. LNMTC facilitates high quality skilled and intermediate nursing care throughout four Nursing Unit Floors and an Alzheimer's Unit that operates 24 hours seven days a week, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.

* Current listing as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) by the state of North Carolina with the Division of Health Service Regulation with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or exploitation.

High school or General Educational Development diploma

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. ELIGIBILITY FOR SIGN-ON BONUS

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:

A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

* the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);

* the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;

* or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
