Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an 80-120 hour nursing assistant course and certified to practice in the state of Wisconsin as a Certified Nursing Assistant High school graduate or equivalent is preferredMust be able to perform all the requirements of the nursing assistant job descriptionMust have no performance/attendance issues documented in the past yearMust possess good communication skills and a willingness to work with all team players and demonstrate a positive working attitudeMust possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practicesPrevious experience in a health care facility is desiredMust have an acceptable criminal background checkMust have a good driving recordStatus: The Restorative Nursing Assistant is directly responsible to the Restorative Coordinator and the Director of Nursing.Essential Job Functions:Responsible to work with residents needing restorative nursing measures to gain or to maintain their highest possible, practical, functional level. Responsible for providing consistency between therapists' work and carry over by nursing on a daily basis. Provides routine nursing care in accordance with facility and state/federal guidelinesSpecific Job Duties:Maintains an active working relationship with nursing team and ancillary departmentsPromotes the concept of customer satisfaction and positive interpersonal relationshipsProvides direct restorative care and delegated formalized therapy tasks as assigned, completing work accurately, safely and in a timely manner. Specific care to include: passive and active ROM, ambulation, special positioning techniques, splints, assistive feeding devises/adaptive equipment, ADL training, bowel and bladder management, restorative dining, bladder retaining.Updates and maintains the resident plan of care sheets used by nursing departmentDemonstrates ability to obtain pertinent information regarding residentsDemonstrates ability to plan and prioritize actions before starting restorative cares Demonstrates ability to perform nursing assistant duties as assignedFollows the resident plan of careActively participates in scheduled meetings/in-servicesDemonstrates proper techniques of lifting, transferring, and ambulating residentsPerforms restorative care and range of motion as instructedAssists with resident admissions, discharges, and room transfers as appropriateAssists and encourages residents to take adequate diet, fluids, and supplementsRecognizes physical distress and acts to provide relief for those residentsIdentifies and reports physical and psychological symptoms or spiritual needs to appropriate staffAllows residents the freedom of choice in details of daily living whenever possibleEnsures resident rights are maintained at all timesReports any observed physical or verbal abuse to the supervisor immediatelyParticipates in establishing and updating resident care plans and aide care sheetsEncourages residents to participate in self care as appropriateAssists residents with the application of prosthetics when appropriateDemonstrates effective and respectful communication with residents, families, and team membersDemonstrates knowledge of, and adheres to, actions to assure resident and staff safetyDemonstrates proper infection control procedures and practicesComplies with rules and regulations of regulatory and surveying agenciesMaintains an active working relationship with nursing team and ancillary departmentsPromotes the concept of customer satisfaction and positive interpersonal relationshipsFollows work assignments and/or work schedules as assignedWork on the floor as needed in the CNA roleTransport residents as needed to appointmentsPractices good personal hygiene and facility dress codeAssumes added duties as assigned
