The flowerz Care Specialist is responsible for providing our patients and community with a delightful experience. Through meaningful interaction and knowledgeable answers, the Care Specialist fosters an environment that is compassionate, genuine, and respectful.

Care Specialists are expected to contribute to making the shop an environment that encourages forward thinking, embraces inclusion, and practices generosity of spirit. Our ideal Care Specialist has a positive, upbeat attitude and a desire to help people find the best product for their needs. Previous experience with a background in retail, customer service, and/or hospitality is required (1+ years).

Responsibilities

  • Possess a positive attitude while greeting customers and patients.
  • Be an advocate of cannabis customer care.
  • Help customers and patients navigate our products and educate them on how they can be used for the attributes they're looking for.
  • Explains the potential benefits of the products offered and provides knowledge, expertise, guidance, and a personalized experience to each customer.
  • Build rapport with regular patients/customers.
  • Work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
  • Provide patients and customers alike with information on the types, methods, and efficacy of various cannabis products (we do not provide medical advice).
  • Be open to continued, ongoing education, feedback, and training.
  • Provide support to managers and other Care Specialists as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation/storefront.
  • Ensure the accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
  • Understand and apply detailed compliance regulations as required by local and state laws.
  • Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of regulated and unregulated inventory.
  • Complete transactions at the POS and ensure the inventory system accurately updates the amount of product available.
  • Maintain compliance with DC & federal regulations.
  • Correct cash handling, discount application, and purchase limits per policy.
  • Know how to use and troubleshoot all products and accessories sold by flowerz.
  • Performs clerical tasks, including compiling and maintaining inventory and customer records.
  • Take initiative to learn existing and new products.
  • Learn the potential of our products and become comfortable providing customers recommendations.
  • Ensures patient questions or concerns are resolved quickly and completely. Communicate any requests or unresolved concerns to the team immediately.
  • Accountable for accurately receiving, coordinating, and fulfilling orders by utilizing the Point of Sale (POS) and inventory tracking systems.
  • Adapts to varied sales volume and stays active by initiating continued learning activities, creating an engaging environment, and assisting in keeping the shop properly stocked, clean, tidy, and operating order while keeping a “Customer First” mindset.
  • Assists in processing and monitoring floor stock and participates in daily inventory counts.
  • Assists in fostering a positive work environment by treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for cannabis education.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures.
  • Above all else, act as the critical link between flowerz and the community by providing an amazing, stress-free, and helpful experience.

Experience

  • 1-2 years experience in customer service is required.

Skills

  • Ability to answer patient questions regarding the different strains of cannabis, their medicinal uses, and methods of consumption.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive Attitude.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • The ability to concentrate on a task for significant periods of time.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of retail or hospitality experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
  • Ability to use office equipment (computers and printers) and their included software i.e. Word, Excel, email, etc.
  • Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to move, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift and carry packages that weigh up to 40 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time (Part-time roles available)

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
