Retail Custodian (1) The Retail Custodian (1) is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior areas of the Diner, Deli and other food service facilities. Reporting Relationship The Custodian shall report directly to the General Manager. Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures each customer receives outstanding service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer.
- Maintains an adequate inventory to meet daily needs of the store and promotes items to improve sales volume.
- Confers regularly with Manager(s) to communicate customer/employee requests and keeps informed of any changes in operating procedures.
- Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors in restrooms, showers, public and office areas.
- Dusts both low and high areas. Wipes down or cleans various surfaces.
- Washes and replaces blinds.
- Stores and uses appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks.
- Removes and disposes of discarded materials.
- Removes and transports trash to the appropriate disposal areas.
- Arrange furniture and/or equipment for special promotions.
- Ensures the physical condition of the premises is maintained in a safe, healthy manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two (2) years of verifiable related employment experience or a combination of education and verifiable related employment experience required.
- Well organized, reliable, and responsible.
- Must be able to routinely walk up and down stairs, climb ladder, stand, bend, and carry items weighing 50-80 pounds.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be willing to work outside in inclement weather as required to maintain the site's physical appearance.
- Ability to perform all aspects of this position adequately and successfully.
- Willing to work odd and irregular hours.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license or state ID.
- Must be willing to cross train for all CTP positions as assigned by management.
- Ability to comply with all other requirements as specified within the CIEDA Personnel Policies and Procedures.
- Internal Promotion must have completed 90-day probational period, worked as a Retail Custodian (1) position 6 months in a direct line skill set or transfer to a direct line skill set at a level (1) for 6 months.
- Must work as a Retail Custodian (1) 6 months and be certified in all positional requirements, pass interview, & a positional slot is available to move to a Retail Custodian (2).
