Johnson's Nursery is seeking an entry-level Retail Horticulturist. This position is geared towards green industry students and early career plant enthusiasts looking to get their foot in the door. These employees will create basic landscape designs for clients, assist retail customers with smaller landscape projects, and assist walk-in customers with superior customer service.The ideal candidate is a green industry student or an individual with at least 1-3 years of direct green industry experience.Full Time Seasonal or Part Time Seasonal (April 1 through October 31).Hours: Flexible in spring, summer, and fall, with heavier hours in April, May, and June. Some weekends and evening hours are required.This is an entry-level horticultural position. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a respected leader in the Wisconsin Green Industry and learn about landscape plants, design, and installation; tree, shrub, evergreen, and perennial plant production; plant propagation.Job DescriptionAssist retail clients with landscape plant selection.Cash and carry sales.Lifting and loading plants.Answering phones, filing, light cleaning, and other basic office tasks.QualificationsGeneral knowledge of landscape plants, design, and landscaping.Basic computer skills.Good communication and customer service skills.Team player attitude and a willingness to learn.Ability to work outdoors.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Landscape design experience or education is a major plus.Benefits & Compensation$14.00-$18.00 per hour.Johnson's Nursery, LLC offers competitive compensation with the following perks after the completion of a probationary period:Plant material discounts, company logo apparel allowance.If you're interested in applying for this position, please continue to the application and questionnaire.#J-18808-Ljbffr
