**THE ROLE**

**The Retail Sales Operations Associate will work closely with the Head of Retail and Sales Associates to support and contribute to the growth plan, primarily for the direct sales component of the Sothebys Wine retail business. This professional will have a proven track record of demonstrating the ability to collate and analyze data continually to identify opportunities and effectively communicate actionable insights to inform and drive strategies for multi-channel client engagement.**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Provide Sothebys Wine senior management and sales team with timely data insights for planning, reporting, outreach, and client development

* Assist the sales team with onboarding new clients, including registering wine-related interests

* Regular analysis of buyers in both auction and retail to understand buying habits, preferences, and spending thresholds

* Timely maintenance of accurate client data in CRM tools

* Ensure clients are appropriately managed and rewarded using CRM tools

* Partner with the buying team to identify opportunities based on depletion trends and client interest

* Assist with the development of sales campaigns in partnership with the sales and buying teams

* Work with auction team to create more crossover opportunities between auction and retail clients

* Support the order flow to enable the direct sales team to meet and exceed sales goals

* Ensure sales orders are processed, shipped, and closed in a timely manner

* Post-sale functions including client confirmation and follow-through with respect to shipping or storage

* Engage with Tech teams in order to deliver feedback and insight for iterations and improvements to our CRM capabilities

**IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES**

* Minimum of Bachelor's degree required

* Interest in, and working knowledge of wine preferred

* Proven track record of leveraging data to drive business and sales growth

* Strong organizational skills

* Laser-focused attention to detail

* Ability to juggle and prioritize, based on deadlines multiple projects at a time

* Capable of working on both an independent and team basis

* Flexible work schedule inclusive of attending events at night and on some weekends

* A high degree of business acumen, sophistication, and the ability to build rapport with a variety of personalities
