Team or Function OverviewThe Sales Service Representative is responsible for supporting our sales and marketing efforts at large national retail locations.

SummaryGAF is seeking a high-energy sales professional with a track record of building successful relationships and closing new business. This role facilitates the sale and flow of GAF products through big box home improvement retail accounts working closely with contractors to educate/promote GAF products that help them build their business. As a Retail Sales Rep, you will act as a consultant between GAF, the stores, and contractors.

Essential DutiesSpecific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Train individuals or small groups with emphasis on general product knowledge, application techniques, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback on market conditions, monitor inventory levels, and provide training to retail associates.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Retail Sales Service Manager, Pro Retail Specialist, GAF Territory Sales Managers, Big Box home improvement retail management teams, inside and outside pro associates, merchandising teams, and store associates.
  • Build and manage a book of contractors from prospecting and cold calling through to the consultation phase, building lasting and meaningful relationships.
  • Own, progress, and close the sales funnel, turning potential Contractor opportunities into wins, through value-selling the benefits of GAF products.
  • Work with Retail Outside selling teams to establish trust and support as the expert in roofing.
  • Display strong negotiating tactics by leveraging value propositions and GAF System Selling.
  • Compile reporting to highlight hits, misses, learning, competitive landscape, and strategic next steps.
  • Influence your contractors constantly networking to become a trusted advisor to existing and potential customers.
  • Explain complex subject matters (e.g. market conditions) to any audience.
  • Display diplomacy and a mastered ability to build immediate rapport with anyone.

Physical DemandsAbility to:

  • Routinely work in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Move about to accomplish tasks or to move from one work area to another.
  • Position self to bend, pull, and reach overhead and/or below shoulder level.
  • Lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs of products, materials, boxes, equipment, etc.
  • Work in outdoor conditions including high/low temperatures, inclement weather, wind, dust, humidity, etc.
  • Converse with and convey information to others on the phone and in-person.
  • Operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Differentiate colors precisely.
  • Operate a motor vehicle and travel without assistance.

Under This Roof, We Require

  • 1 year experience in a sales environment, or customer service-focused role (building materials industry a plus).
  • The ability to have and maintain a driver's license.
  • Highly motivated and have a strong desire for advancement in a roofing sales capacity.
  • Excellent written, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory.

  • Bachelor's Degree desired.
  • 1 to 2 years experience in a sales or customer service-focused role (building materials industry a plus).
  • A combination of retail sales & customer service along with an interest in advancement is desired.
  • Intermediate proficiency using Google Suite.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Google Suite.
  • Experience with SalesForce is a plus.
  • Bilingual.

Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications.

Annual Salary Range: 49,507-63,259

Annual Bonus Range: 16,000-22,000
