This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference while leading a dynamic retail team.Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Set performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and promote staff development.
- Customer Service: Ensure customers receive excellent service by setting and maintaining high customer interactions, merchandising, and store cleanliness standards.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, including pricing, stocking, and rotation of merchandise to maximize sales and minimize waste.
- Sales Growth: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, including merchandising displays, promotions, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Financial Management: Manage store budgets and financial performance, monitoring expenses and revenue to achieve budget targets.
- Quality Control: Maintain merchandise quality standards and ensure all items meet Goodwill's quality guidelines.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Goodwill policies, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Community Engagement: Represent Goodwill in the local community, building positive relationships with customers, donors, and community partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience
- Two years of successful supervisory experience at Goodwill; or 2+ years of successful store manager experience with full P&L responsibility in a small box environment; or 1+ years of successful management experience in a big box environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management and pricing strategies.
- Familiarity with retail point-of-sale systems and inventory tracking software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or another relevant language is a plus.
- Experience working with diverse and inclusive teams.
- Passion for sustainability and Goodwill's mission of creating opportunities for people with diverse challenges.
