Careers Career Opportunity with FCE Benefits Administrators We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Retirement Plan Administration to oversee the administration, regulatory compliance, and financial performance of our Pooled Employer Plan (PEP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plan complies with all federal and state regulations, managing fiduciary and operational risks, promoting the PEP to participating employers, and overseeing financial analysis and reporting. This position requires strong expertise in retirement plan administration, ERISA compliance, risk management, and the ability to build and manage relationships with participating employers. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the PEP complies with all federal and state regulations, including ERISA, the SECURE Act, and IRS guidelines.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, including Form 5500 and other required documents.
- Identify and mitigate operational, legal, and fiduciary risks; manage fiduciary liability.
- Analyze the financial performance of the PEP, track contributions, fees, and expenses, and generate reports for the PPP and participating employers.
- Ensure the accurate and timely distribution of financial disclosures and reports.
- Promote the PEP to potential employers, explain plan benefits, and manage employer onboarding and ongoing participation.
- Serve as the key point of contact for participating employers and maintain strong relationships.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the PEP, working with internal teams and third-party service providers to ensure smooth plan administration.
- Manage plan audits and ensure compliance with fiduciary duties and best practices.
- Working with government contractors subject to the Service Contract Act.
- Other duties as assigned. Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Human Resources, or a related field required.
- Master's degree preferred, but not required. Experience Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, compliance, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of ERISA, the SECURE Act, IRS guidelines, Retirement, and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Experience in financial analysis, risk management, and compliance in a retirement plan context. Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
- Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) or Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA)
- Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA)
- Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA)
