Job Summary

The second assisting surgical technologist assists the surgeon and/or first assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out technical tasks such as holding retractors or instruments and applying sponges or suctions to the operative site. Works under the direction of the surgeon, first assistant, circulating nurse, Assistant Manager, OR Manager, Director of Surgical Services, and Vice President of Patient Care Services.

Job Details and Requirements

Type: Part Time (32 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)

Typical Hours: Day Shift, Variable start time, on call rotation

Education: High School Diploma or GED - required

Certification & Licensures: BLS Certification - required

Experience: No experience required, willing to train
