Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; two years of experience in collecting delinquent accounts; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Working knowledge of basic laws, regulations and codes relating to the collection of funds. Ability to prepare and maintain clear and accurate records, reports, and correspondence. The ability to communicate effectively and show empathy in difficult situations to a wide range of individuals under a variety of circumstances. Ability to use an automated collection system via a personal computer and related software as well as other standard office equipment. The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in regard to customer information, and all confidential tax information. Ability to process payments via a cash receipting system in a backup capacity and to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.DutiesUnder general supervision, perform work of moderate difficulty in office work to collect delinquent personal property and real estate taxes through various means to include making phone calls, preparing tax liens, and other collection actions. Perform cashier duties in a backup capacity. Perform other work as required.This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.ShiftMonday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.Work LocationTreasurer
