Job Expires: Open Until FilledSalary Range: $50,668.94 to $67,594.30General Description and Classification StandardsWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Compliance Specialist in the Office of Revenue. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multi-year renewals, processing amendments, handling final closure request, and ensuring compliancy of regulatory requirements. This role requires a thorough understanding of local and state business licensing regulations, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.Supervision ReceivedDirection received is very general and focuses on end results and is typically collaborative in nature.Essential Duties & Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this job. Other duties may be required and assigned.Multi-Year Renewals:* Develop and maintain a comprehensive timetable for multi-year business license renewals.* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary documentation for multi-year renewals.* Track and manage the application workflow, ensuring timely processing and compliance with regulatory deadlines.Business License Application Amendments:* Assist businesses in the process of amending their existing license applications as needed.* Review proposed amendment and identify discrepancies or irregularities in reported gross receipts and initiate corrective actions.* Communicate with businesses to provide guidance and clarification on amendment requirements.* Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of application amendments.Final Closure of Business:* Coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to ensure proper documentation and notification of business closures.* Review and assess business closure documentation to verify the accuracy of closure information, including financial records and outstanding obligations.* Maintain records of closed businesses in accordance with record-keeping policies.* Evaluate business closure cases to determine if the entity is entitled to a refund or if outstanding fees are owed.Regulatory Compliance:* Stay abreast of changes in local and state licensing regulations to ensure the accuracy of closure assessments.* Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency.
