Job Summary: The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)Specialist is responsible for improving the efficiency, accuracy, and profitability of the revenue cycle, which encompasses patient registration, insurance verification, billing, coding, claims processing, implementation and integration of acquisitions and collections. Travel: While primarily a remote position, employee is required to attend monthly in office cadence (up to two times per month at our NYC office). From time to time, additional in-person team meetings may be required as well. Essential Functions:
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for revenue cycle initiatives in collaboration with the RCM Leadership Team.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze current revenue cycle processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve financial outcomes.
  • Work closely with departments such as billing, patient access, and vendor partners to streamline workflows.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and external partners.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and issues.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to communicate project progress and outcomes.
  • Analyze revenue cycle data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and present reports to management on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle performance and projects.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and project planning.
  • Manage project processes by providing support and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Ensure that project teams adhere to established project management methodologies and standards.
  • Ensure all revenue cycle processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Stay informed of changes in healthcare regulations and assess their impact on revenue cycle operations.
  • Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of revenue cycle management systems and technology solutions in collaboration with the RCM Manager and Leadership team.
  • Work with IT and software vendors to ensure successful deployment and integration of new mergers and acquisitions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration or other related field is required. Comparable education and experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications as well as medical office software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse teams and offices.
  • Experience in change management and process improvement initiatives, especially during office integration and expansion.
  • Knowledge of regional healthcare regulations and payer dynamics to adapt revenue cycle strategies accordingly.
  • Project management skills to oversee integration projects effectively.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge and application of HIPAA & OSHA compliance
